Wyndham Regional Football Facility
The Wyndham Regional Football Facility is a rectangular sports facility located at Tarneit in Melbourne's west. Construction commenced in March 2022, with the venue to host its first match in March 2024. The council facility is situated adjacent to the proposed future Wyndham City Stadium.
The regional football facility (an interim name - with the future name believed to be Ironbark Fields) will serve as the training base for A-League club Western United and an interim home ground for the club's men's and women's teams for at least two seasons until its proposed stadium opens. It'll also host NPL matches and academy teams for United. Its first ever A-League match will be the women's fixture on March 17.
The venue features a 800-seat grandstand, with a 2,000-seat temporary grandstand constructed for A-League matches opposite, boosting its capacity to around 5,000. The facility is being jointly funded and developed by Wyndham City Council and the Western Melbourne Group with shared community facilities.
Features of the facility include:
- Three training pitches (two turf and one synthetic).
- Main training pitch with professional-grade surface with capacity for 5,000 spectators, including 800-seat grandstand.
- Exterior plazas and pitch seating.
- Two storey pavilion with training and gym facilities, function and media spaces, change rooms, staff facilities, kiosks, public toilets and first aid room.
- Onsite car parking.
